Garlic paste has a strong pungent odour and a spicy flavour.  In Indian cookery Garlic is used in biryanis, curries, gravies, relishes, sauces and to make stuffing for fish, meat and poultry.  Garlic is also used in oriental cookery to make sauces and stews.  In herbal medicine garlic extracts are used to treat high blood pressure.
